RAD
A roguelike where you mutate with every kill, forcing constant adaptation across procedurally-generated wastelands. Pixel art charm meets punishing runs.
GamerScout Verdict
Best for roguelike veterans who thrive on unpredictability and don't mind eating deaths as part of the fun.

About RAD
RAD strips roguelike design down to its core loop: sprint through a radioactive wasteland, kill enemies to unlock mutations, and pray you don't inherit something that makes the next biome unplayable. The mutation system is the real star, you don't choose your powers, you get random upgrades that stack in weird ways. Some runs you're a radioactive slug, others you're a four-armed tank. It's unpredictable and forces you to think on your feet. The pixel art is genuinely striking, with a retro-synth vibe that sells the post-apocalyptic setting without feeling tired. Combat is tight but unforgiving, and the procedural generation keeps encounters fresh. Fair warning: this is a hardcore roguelike that doesn't hold your hand. If you bounce off games that don't explain mechanics upfront or can't tolerate losing 30 minutes to a bad mutation roll, pass. But if you want a rogue-lite that respects your time and rewards mastery, RAD scratches that itch.
