I went in expecting a straightforward Psycho-Pass tie-in and found something more ambitious: a branching detective story where choosing compassion over procedure actually changes which victims you save and which suspects you arrest. You play as two detectives, Nadeshiko and Takuma, investigating cases in a system that measures mental state as data. The writing leans hard into philosophical questions about justice and truth, which lands when it hits but occasionally feels preachy. The core loop is solid visual novel stuff: read, choose, see consequences ripple forward. Control over investigations feels real rather than illusory. That said, if you're not already invested in the Psycho-Pass IP or willing to accept anime-style melodrama about determinism and free will, the 15-20 hour runtime will test your patience. It's a game for people who finish visual novels specifically for the dialogue, not a gateway title.
