Pro Evolution Soccer 2016
A solid mid-cycle football sim that plays it safe but nails the fundamentals for sim-minded players tired of FIFA's bloat.
GamerScout Verdict
Solid football simulation for players who want responsive pitch action without the monetization theater.

About Pro Evolution Soccer 2016
I approached PES 2016 expecting the usual year-on-year tweaks, and that's mostly what you get. The ball physics feel more responsive than FIFA's equivalent, and match pacing rewards patience over sprint-spamming. Career mode is barebones compared to competitors, but the core 11v11 is tactically sound. Squad building lacks the gatekeeping of modern loot-box systems, which honestly feels refreshing if you just want to pick your team and play. It's not revolutionary, and by 2025 standards the visuals are dated. But if you're looking for a straightforward football simulation without card grinding, this delivers exactly that. Not a must-own, but worth checking if it's cheap and you've burned out on the annual FIFA cycle.
