ppL: The Animated Adventures

I spent a couple hours with ppL expecting something unremarkable, but the game's goofy energy kept me interested despite obvious budget constraints. It's a side-scrolling platformer with light adventure elements, the kind of thing you'd find on a publisher's back catalog 15 years ago. Jumping feels floaty, level design is straightforward, and the visuals are colorful but rough around the edges. The real appeal here is pure earnestness. There's no pretense, no live-service trickery, just a developer trying to make something fun with minimal resources. It won't blow you away mechanically, but if you're the type who appreciates underdog indie projects with heart over technical chops, there's enough here to justify a playthrough. Don't expect innovation or polish. Do expect a chill afternoon with a game that knows exactly what it is.
