Compare Poöf prices across trusted key stores and find the best deal. Developed by Arkedo. Published by Neko Entertainment. Released on 11/8/2013. Available on PC. Genres: Action, Indie, Strategy.

A twitchy tower-defense platformer hybrid that wants your reflexes and your placement instincts firing at once, and won't wait for you to catch up.

Poöf asks for reflexes before it asks for planning, which is an odd inversion if you come to tower defense from the Kingdom Rush school of pause-and-think. You are running, jumping and swinging around a single screen while monsters converge on a golden kitten you are meant to be protecting, and the defensive structures you drop only matter if you can physically get to the right ledge in time to place them. Arkedo built this around tight controls and hard choices, and both halves of that promise hold up: the movement is crisp, and every second you spend repositioning is a second not spent laying down defenses. The problem is depth. There is no economy to optimise across a campaign, no branching upgrade tree worth mapping, and the difficulty spikes land on execution rather than decision-making. Mostly Positive at 75% across roughly 248 reviews feels right to me: people who wanted a reflex challenge got one, people who wanted a strategy game got a platformer wearing a strategy hat. Controller support is solid, achievements and leaderboards give it a little replay spine, and it is single-player only. Come for the hand-eye test, not the build orders. Diego, Scout Team

GamerScout Verdict

Best for platformer players who want a light defense twist, not for strategy fans hunting real build decisions.

Every store in this table quotes us in euros, so the EUR figure is the price the seller actually set, not our arithmetic — which is why EUR is also the currency we rank in. We only list an offer here when the store gives us its price in euros, so nothing in this table is a number we invented.

Pick USD, PLN, GBP, CAD or AUD in the header and we convert from EUR at the European Central Bank reference rate — converted amounts are prefixed with ~. Your bank or the store may apply a different rate at checkout. We never hide offers based on where you are: everyone sees this whole table.

We may earn a commission when you buy games through links on this page — at no extra cost to you. It never affects our rankings or verdicts.
