Pico Park

I spent an evening with Pico Park expecting a throwaway couch co-op distraction, and instead found myself genuinely impressed by its restraint. This is a 2-8 player action puzzle game where you push blocks, solve spatial riddles, and coordinate across local or online lobbies. No combat, no progression systems, no fluff. Each level is a tightly designed moment that forces communication: someone has to go left while you press up, timing matters, and one misstep cascades back to the start. It's brutally simple by design. What works is the clarity. The pixel art is clean, the controls are immediate, and the difficulty curve actually teaches you without handholding. What doesn't is the lack of content depth after 40 levels or so, and online lag can turn elegant timing puzzles into frustrating guessing games. But for what it is, Pico Park respects your time and your group's ability to cooperate without lecturing you about it. A small, focused game that knows exactly what it is.
