I approached Carnival of Chaos expecting filler, but Ghost Town Games packed genuine personality into this small DLC. The new levels lean hard into absurdist kitchen design, cooking with cannons, navigating carnival-themed chaos, cramped spaces that force real coordination. It's not revolutionary, but the level design shows intentionality; every stage teaches you something about timing and positioning before it punishes you for fumbling. The DLC respects its own brevity. These levels don't overstay their welcome, and the carnival theming (while slight) gives the whole thing a coherent vibe rather than feeling like a random assortment of leftover ideas. If you're burnt out on base-game levels or craving sharper difficulty spikes, this scratches that itch. Casual players and series newcomers should start with the base game first, this is fan service, not a gateway.
