GamerScout Verdict
Asymmetrical multiplayer with potential, but stiff controls and a vanished community make it a tough sell in 2024.

About Outworld Battlegrounds
I went in expecting a polished battle royale and got something much rougher. Outworld Battlegrounds is an asymmetrical multiplayer action game where one player hunts down the rest, and that core premise has genuine potential. The execution, though, feels like a prototype that never quite graduated. Movement feels stiff, the netcode has visible lag, and maps lack the polish you'd expect even from smaller studios. The few matches I managed to find had player bases so small that queue times stretched long. If you're hunting for a gimmicky alternative to the mainstream BR crowd and don't mind playing against bots or friends in private lobbies, there's a seed of something here. For anyone else, the 2019 release date shows. The game hasn't evolved much since launch, and the community is basically gone. It's a hard pass unless you're specifically after that asymmetrical twist and have ultra-low expectations.
