About Outrageous Grounds: The Maze
I went in expecting a straightforward maze-crawler and found something that doesn't quite know what it wants to be. Outrageous Grounds leans into action and adventure mechanics without the polish or scope to pull off either convincingly. The maze structure itself is functional - enough twists and dead ends to force you to think rather than mindlessly corridor-crawl - but the combat feels loose and the adventure hooks lack teeth. There's a scrappy charm here if you're patient with rough edges. Some environmental puzzles click, and a few combat encounters have genuine timing demands. It's the kind of game that works best if you go in without expectations, treat it as a curiosity, and appreciate what it attempts rather than what it fails to be. Not a waste of time if you're between bigger titles and don't mind indie rough around the edges.
