About Other Tanks
Other Tanks is a straightforward arcade shooter from 2016 that leans hard into the spirit of classic tank games. You pilot a tank, aim your cannon, and clear screens of enemy armor. It's the kind of game that doesn't overthink itself: no story cutscenes, no progression systems with ten layers of unlock trees, just action. If you grew up feeding quarters into Arcade-era tank cabinets or loved the pure mechanics of early Battle City clones, this is nostalgia fuel. The controls are responsive enough to make dodging feel earned, and the difficulty ramps predictably. The downside is that "straightforward" can also mean "limited." There aren't many gameplay twists across the levels, and enemy AI follows patterns you'll memorize fast. It's not broken or poorly made, it just knows exactly what it is and doesn't reach beyond that. Pick this up if you want a breezy, no-commitment arcade fix. Skip it if you need depth or modern polish. Either way, you're not paying AAA prices for what's essentially a passion project.
