The Definitive Edition is the only version of this you need to install, and that is worth knowing before you buy a package that hands you both. What you get is two Steam entries for the same Metroidvania: the original release, and the expanded rerelease that added new areas, extra abilities including a dash and a light burst, fast travel between spirit wells, and selectable difficulty. Nothing in this bundle is a wallpaper pack or a shelf-filler soundtrack. It is the game, twice, in two states. So who is the second key actually for? Completionists, and anyone curious about how a good game got better. Everyone else should launch the Definitive Edition, ignore the other line in their library, and enjoy one of the best-looking, most precisely tuned platformers on PC. The escape sequences will still make you swear at your controller. A 94 percent score across sixty thousand reviews is not an accident.
