GamerScout Verdict
Solid tactical shooter bones buried under rough level design and inconsistent enemy AI, worth trying if you're hungry for indie FPS alternatives.

About Operation Caucasus
Operation Caucasus is a first-person tactical shooter built on the premise that gunplay should matter more than run-and-gun reflexes. The campaign plops you into conflict zones with an emphasis on cover, positioning, and weapon handling that feels grounded relative to most indie FPS fare. Reload times aren't instant, crosshairs bloom when you move, and you can't absorb magazine rounds like a sponge. That foundation is solid, but the execution stumbles. Level design feels cramped and corridorish rather than giving you room to plan approaches. AI doesn't consistently reward patience or punish careless aggression, which undermines the whole tactical pitch. The visuals and sound design are serviceable but forgettable. It's the kind of game that had the right idea but needed another year of playtesting and iteration to land. Worth a look if you're hunting for indie FPS games that aren't Halo or Call of Duty knockoffs and you're willing to forgive rough edges. Just don't expect the depth of a full-fat tactical shooter.
