Hardcore Naruto fans who skipped this pack are missing out on two of the franchise's most satisfying villain movesets, plus a wardrobe refresh for a dozen classic shinobi.

My first thought when this pack dropped was straightforward: it exists for one specific type of player, and if you are that player, you already know who you are. The Next Generations DLC for UNS 4 Road to Boruto is the final content layer on top of what is already the most complete game in the Ultimate Ninja Storm series, and it delivers two genuinely distinct additions that go beyond cosmetic padding. The headliners are Momoshiki Otsutsuki and Kinshiki Otsutsuki, arriving as fully playable fighters. Both characters were previously locked to scripted boss encounters inside the Road to Boruto expansion, which was a frustrating tease for anyone who watched Naruto and Boruto tag-team Momoshiki in his Evolved Otsutsuki Mode. Having them in your roster changes that calculus. Momoshiki in particular carries some of the more interesting jutsu in the game, including his Evolved Otsutsuki awakening state, which plays noticeably differently from the base character. Kinshiki is the heavier, slower counterpart, a towering bruiser whose moveset reflects his role as an overwhelming physical threat. Neither fighter is a reskin, and that matters in a roster that critics have fairly noted trends toward repeat character variants. Beyond the two villains, the pack rounds out with Boruto-era alternate costumes for 11 returning shinobi. These are wardrobe swaps, not new fighters, so temper expectations accordingly. But for players who have grown tired of seeing Naruto in his classic orange or Sasuke locked to his war-arc look, the updated designs from the Next Generations timeline offer a welcome visual refresh. It is the kind of addition that reads as low-effort on a spec sheet but lands well in actual rotation, especially in online play where opponent variety matters. The honest caveat is that this pack does nothing to fix the structural limitations of the base game. The fighting system is accessible and visually spectacular, but it has always leaned simple compared to dedicated arena fighters. Defensive substitution juggling and Storm Gauge management remain the ceiling of the competitive depth. If the base game felt shallow to you before, two new characters will not change that read. This is also pure roster content, no new story mode or adventure segments, so the value calculation is narrow. For series completionists and anyone with unfinished business in UNS 4's online modes, the Next Generations pack is the last piece of a very long puzzle. Approach it as the final coat of paint on an already-detailed canvas and it delivers exactly what it promises. Alex, Scout Team
