The first hour of Mystic Vale is a wall: you are physically layering transparent cards on top of each other, and the interface takes a while before the card-crafting clicks. Push through, because that friction is the whole point of the system. This pack is an inline DLC and it will not run without Mystic Vale itself installed. What Vale of Magic adds is extra card content that folds into the existing draft pool, expanding what you can splice into your growing decks. The store listing carries the exact card list, and I would check it before buying rather than trusting a summary. Who it is for: players already deep enough into the base game to feel the card pool repeating by the fourth or fifth session, and completionists who want the full draft table available in online or Remote Play matches. If you only play a match every few months, skip it, the core set still has plenty of combinations you have not seen. Everyone else is buying variance, and that is exactly what a deckbuilder with this narrow a card pool needs.
