Meta-Ghost: The Breaking Show Demo
A cyberpunk roguelite demo that punches above its weight with tight hack-and-slash combat and a conspiracy-laced reality-show premise worth at least one run.
GamerScout Verdict
Worth a run if you want a mechanically layered cyberpunk roguelite demo with real build variety and a story worth following to full release.

Pick USD, PLN, GBP, CAD or AUD in the header and we convert from EUR at the European Central Bank reference rate — converted amounts are prefixed with ~. Your bank or the store may apply a different rate at checkout. We never hide offers based on where you are: everyone sees this whole table.

About Meta-Ghost: The Breaking Show Demo
I went into this demo expecting a genre-by-numbers action roguelite, and what I found was a game with a genuinely interesting hook wrapped around a surprisingly mechanical core. The setup places you inside the Breaking Show, a dystopian livestreamed death-sport set in the future city of Aeropolis, where implant-augmented humans compete against intelligent war machines for the chance to climb the social ladder. It sounds like a dozen cyberpunk pitches you have read before, but the world-building earns its place because the conspiracy underpinning the show bleeds into every piece of relic lore and Driver description you find. The character selection alone signals that Galaxy Studio is thinking about build variety. You pick between three Breakers with meaningfully different starting kits: Taisuke, a radiation-burned mercenary whose kit rewards heavy attack timing, Jean, a brawler from the Saint Oved slums built for physical pressure, and Yan, a hacker-type whose playstyle skews toward precise, deliberate hits. Each one plays differently enough that you are not just reskinning the same moveset. In the run itself, the Driver system is the strategic engine. Drivers are software upgrades loaded onto your prosthetics, and stacking compatible ones across the five provided types opens up synergies that push combat well beyond simple button-mashing. Relics dropped from fallen competitors layer on top, with the tiered quality system (green through orange) giving you that familiar dopamine loop while nudging you toward a defined build identity by the mid-run. Route selection adds a light tactical layer. You can see every room down a path before committing, which means weighing Fate Rooms (higher risk, higher reward) against safer corridors is a real decision rather than a coin flip. The out-of-run Operating System skill tree carries progress between attempts, so even failed runs feel like they are feeding into something. For a demo, the mechanical scaffolding is more complete than many early access launches. Where the demo naturally falls short is content breadth. You are sampling a slice of what is clearly designed to be a much larger game, so the story threads tease rather than resolve, and the variety of enemies and arenas on offer is limited. Combat responsiveness feels solid for the most part, though players used to the frame-perfect parry windows of harder Souls-adjacent games may find the feedback loop slightly looser. Community reception on Steam has leaned positive, which for an Early Access demo in a crowded roguelite market is a meaningful signal that the fundamentals are there. If you are a roguelite fan who also has a soft spot for cyberpunk settings with actual narrative ambition behind them, this demo is a clean way to stress-test both before the full release. Do not expect a complete game. Do expect enough mechanical depth to tell you whether the full thing belongs on your wishlist.
