About Magma Tsunami
The first hour is a wall, and not the molten kind. Magma Tsunami drops you into a vertical scramble with jump physics that feel slippery until you stop fighting them, and the run-ends-in-thirty-seconds loop can read as cheap before you understand you are supposed to be reading the platform layout, not reacting to it. Push past that and something clicks. It becomes a game about routes: which ledge to skip, when to trade height for safety, how to read the rising magma as a metronome instead of a threat. StrangeLight Games kept it small on purpose, and the score-chasing skeleton holds up. Where it thins is content. There is not much beneath the one-minute hook, and solo play exhausts its ideas faster than the leaderboard can motivate you. Co-op and split-screen are the real version, with Remote Play Together doing quiet work if your friends are elsewhere. Partial controller support is a genuine annoyance. The mixed Steam reception makes sense to me: this is a party-adjacent arcade toy, not a campaign, and people who bought it expecting the latter were right to be disappointed.
