Magicka 2: Ice, Death and Fury
A chaotic spell-mixing DLC that leans hard into absurdist co-op mayhem, but stumbles on repetitive mission design and balance issues that the mixed reviews reflect.
GamerScout Verdict
Fun with a friend if you want more spell-mixing chaos, but the mixed reviews suggest solo players should wait for a sale.

Every store in this table quotes us in euros, so the EUR figure is the price the seller actually set, not our arithmetic — which is why EUR is also the currency we rank in. We only list an offer here when the store gives us its price in euros, so nothing in this table is a number we invented.
Pick USD, PLN, GBP, CAD or AUD in the header and we convert from EUR at the European Central Bank reference rate — converted amounts are prefixed with ~. Your bank or the store may apply a different rate at checkout. We never hide offers based on where you are: everyone sees this whole table.
We may earn a commission when you buy games through links on this page — at no extra cost to you. It never affects our rankings or verdicts.

About Magicka 2: Ice, Death and Fury
I've spent enough time with Magicka 2's formula to know what Ice, Death and Fury is banking on: the dopamine of accidentally freezing your teammate while trying to nuke a golem. The spell-crafting system is still the draw here - stacking elements and effects to create ridiculous combinations feels as good as it did in the base game, and the new spells add legitimate variety to experimentation. New robes, enemies, and co-op scenarios should sweeten the deal for fans who've exhausted the vanilla campaign. Where it falters is mission repetition and balancing. The encounters don't feel meaningfully different from what was already there, and the difficulty spikes don't always feel earned - sometimes you're just getting swarmed because the game decided that mission is "hard" today. Split-screen and online co-op both work fine, but the mixed Steam reviews suggest the content doesn't justify the price for players burning through it solo. If you've got a friend to cast ridiculous spells with and you're hungry for more Magicka, this scratches that itch. Solo players should temper expectations.
