Maestro's Cold War 2
A Cold War sandbox that hides real geopolitical depth behind a UI you can learn in twenty minutes. Rare in this genre, and the reason it sticks.
GamerScout Verdict
Best for strategy fans who want Cold War depth without a 40-hour learning curve, and who will play it PvP.

Every store in this table quotes us in euros, so the EUR figure is the price the seller actually set, not our arithmetic — which is why EUR is also the currency we rank in. We only list an offer here when the store gives us its price in euros, so nothing in this table is a number we invented.
Pick USD, PLN, GBP, CAD or AUD in the header and we convert from EUR at the European Central Bank reference rate — converted amounts are prefixed with ~. Your bank or the store may apply a different rate at checkout. We never hide offers based on where you are: everyone sees this whole table.
We may earn a commission when you buy games through links on this page — at no extra cost to you. It never affects our rankings or verdicts.

About Maestro's Cold War 2
The best thing here is the pacing: this is a Cold War sandbox you can actually finish a session of. Most grand-strategy sims in this space demand a two-hour tutorial and a wiki tab open on your second monitor. Maestro Cinetik went the other way. The systems are legible from the first turn, the feedback loop on your decisions is short, and yet the decision space stays wide enough that a second run plays nothing like the first. That combination is what 96% of 162 Steam reviewers are responding to, and I think they are right. Where it thins out is the late game. Once you understand the levers, the sandbox stops surprising you, and there is no scripted crisis structure to push back. The saving grace is Workshop support, which is where a sim like this lives or dies long-term; the mod ecosystem is young on a game released in late August 2026, so factor that in. PvP, including online, is a genuine draw and a better answer to the solo AI's limits than another patch would be. Come for a tight, low-friction Cold War toybox. Do not come expecting Paradox-scale simulation underneath.
