Energy is the whole game. Every trap you place, every unit you deploy, every upgrade to your domain draws from one shared pool, and that single constraint turns what looks like a joke premise into an actual resource-management loop. You are picking between a corridor of cheap chip damage and one expensive choke point, then living with it when the next wave of heroines arrives with a composition you did not plan for. The RTS layer is light (you are nudging units, not microing them) but the build order matters more than the moment-to-moment control, which is the right call for a game this size. Where it thins out is the long tail. Wave variety runs dry before the campaign does, the AI pathing is predictable enough that a solved layout carries you through several chapters, and there is no mod support to extend the ceiling. The writing leans hard on meta gags and self-awareness, which lands if that is your humour and grates if it is not. For a small adult-VN hybrid, though, the strategy half is not decoration. It actually asks you to think.
