I went in expecting a conventional adaptation of Les Misérables, but Mzonestudio's take is deliberately understated. This is a character-focused adventure centered on Jean Valjean's journey, relying on dialogue and story beats rather than action set pieces. It's the kind of game that works best if you either know the source material or are willing to sit with what amounts to interactive fiction wrapped in a simple adventure shell. The trade-off is real: minimal production values and no voice acting means heavy reading. If you're chasing spectacle or gameplay complexity, this isn't it. But for fans of the novel looking for a low-key way to revisit Valjean's arc, or curious players who want a quieter take on literary adaptation, there's something honest about the restraint here. It knows what it is and doesn't pretend otherwise.
