Kung Fu Fighting is a scrappy fighting game that knows exactly what it is: a straightforward brawler built on classic martial arts tropes rather than technical frame-data complexity. RiceFun Games has packed in a roster of kung fu archetypes, straightforward combos, and the kind of arcade energy that doesn't pretend to compete with Street Fighter or Tekken. The appeal is honest simplicity paired with nostalgic charm. What works is the accessibility. Button mashing feels satisfying, and there's enough variety in character movesets to encourage experimenting beyond your first pick. What doesn't is the lack of depth for fighting game veterans. This is entry-level stuff, and there's no online multiplayer to speak of on a console-only release in 2023. If you want a couch co-op button-masher with zero pretense, it scratches that itch. Everyone else should look elsewhere.
