About Kingdom Rush Frontiers
If the first Kingdom Rush was the pitch, Frontiers is the version that knows exactly what it is doing. The skeleton is unchanged: four tower families (archers, barracks, mages, artillery), a rain of fire button and a reinforcement button sitting on cooldown, and a fixed path you cannot reroute. What changed is the top tier. The specialist upgrades are real decisions instead of damage bumps, and the little animated set pieces (a sand worm swallowing half a wave, assassins yanking enemies clean off the road) give every tower a personality. Where it sags: the heroes are wildly uneven, a couple of them flatten stages while the rest ride the bench, and the heroic and iron challenge modes lean on memorization more than tactics. You will replay levels to learn wave order. It also wears its mobile origins openly, with short maps, star currency and an upgrade grind. None of that stops it being one of the cleanest tower defense games you can put on a PC.
