About Kick-Ass 2
I went in expecting a forgettable licensed game, and Kick-Ass 2 surprised me by actually understanding what made the film work. You're fighting through waves of street thugs and costumed villains across levels that mirror the movie's set pieces, armed with pipes, guns, and a satisfying melee combo system. It's not reinventing the action-adventure wheel, but the pacing is snappy enough to keep you moving for a few hours, and the unlock system (new weapons, character skins, combo finishers) gives you reasons to replay levels. The rough edges are real. The camera gets fussy in tight spaces, enemy AI is basic, and there's no multiplayer or co-op despite the team-up vibe of the source material. If you're chasing a quick, unpretentious action fix and have nostalgia for the Kick-Ass films, this scratches that itch. Everyone else should probably skip it.
