About Jagged Alliance: Rage!
I approached Jagged Alliance: Rage! expecting tactical squad management, but what I found was a hybrid that doesn't commit to either discipline. The turn-based combat feels thin compared to the original series, positioning matters less, and your mercs' quirks are more flavour text than gameplay hooks. The jungle roadtrip framing is charming, but it undermines the mission-based structure that made the franchise tick. Co-op is available, which is a plus, but the AI is predictable and the difficulty scaling is blunt. This isn't a total wash. The mercs still have personality, and if you're after a casual tactical romp with character banter, the campaign delivers that. But anyone craving deep build synergies, resource optimization, or actual squad-composition puzzles should look elsewhere. Rage! is the spin-off that forgot what made Jagged Alliance matter.
