I went in expecting NetherRealm's usual combo depth with a DC license skin. What I got was a solid mid-tier fighter that knows exactly what it is: arcade-style brawling with environmental destruction, stage hazards, and a roster of 30+ characters. The S.T.A.R. Labs story missions are bite-sized and goofy in the best way. Ultimate Edition packs six extra fighters and a ton of skins on top of the base game. The catch is age. This is a 2013 port that hasn't aged gracefully. Rollback netcode never happened, so online is rough, and the balance feels dated. If you're chasing a modern fighting game experience, skip it.
