Hunting The Hunter

I spent a couple hours with Hunting The Hunter expecting a survival sim or Alien-style stalker experience. Instead, I got something caught between a walking simulator and a narrative adventure that doesn't quite commit to either. You're playing a woman lost in woods being pursued by a killer, uncovering disappearances along the way. The premise has real potential, but the execution feels thin. Mechanical depth is minimal, there's little build strategy or decision-making architecture here, which is usually where I find engagement. The tension relies entirely on narrative and atmosphere, neither of which lands hard enough to carry a 2-3 hour runtime. This is a casual indie title that works best if you want atmospheric dread without systemic complexity. No mod ecosystem, no replayability hooks, no reason to return after credits roll.
