Hunt: Showdown 1896 - Souls of a Feather
Pure cosmetic fuel for one of PC gaming's most tension-soaked extraction shooters: two dark-lore hunters, two weapons, and a sticky bomb skin, for players who want their Morrigan and Midian looking the part.
GamerScout Verdict
Worth it only if you're already deep in the Hunt ecosystem and want Morrigan and Midian's dark lore represented in your loadout.

Every store in this table quotes us in euros, so the EUR figure is the price the seller actually set, not our arithmetic — which is why EUR is also the currency we rank in. We only list an offer here when the store gives us its price in euros, so nothing in this table is a number we invented.
Pick USD, PLN, GBP, CAD or AUD in the header and we convert from EUR at the European Central Bank reference rate — converted amounts are prefixed with ~. Your bank or the store may apply a different rate at checkout. We never hide offers based on where you are: everyone sees this whole table.

About Hunt: Showdown 1896 - Souls of a Feather
I'll be upfront: if you came here hoping Souls of a Feather adds a new map, a new boss, or a fresh game mode to Hunt: Showdown 1896, close the tab and save yourself some time. This is a cosmetic DLC pack, full stop. What you get is two legendary hunter variants, Scourge: Morrigan and Scourge: Midian, a Winfield 1893 Slate Riposte skin under the name Wing's Wake, a LeMat Mark II UpperMat skin called Heart's Dowry, and a legendary Sticky Bomb consumable skin named Cagebreaker. That is the complete list. No gameplay advantage, no mechanical unlock, no stat difference from the base equivalents. With that out of the way, the question becomes whether the cosmetics themselves are worth it within the context of what Hunt: Showdown 1896 actually is. The base game is one of the more genuinely original multiplayer shooters running right now. It drops up to 12 players, in solos, duos, or trios, into large Louisiana bayou maps where the objective is to track AI boss monsters using environmental clues, banish them, grab the bounty token, and fight your way to an extraction point before rival hunters do the same to you. The permadeath system means your hunter, their equipped gear, and their earned traits are all gone permanently if you die on a run. Every bullet fired and every route chosen carries real weight because of it. Add in the fact that sound design does most of the tactical work, with distant gunshots and disturbed crows functioning as a living radar, and you have a game that rewards patience and punishes recklessness in ways most multiplayer shooters don't bother to try. Morrigan and Midian are built around a shared lore thread tied to the Scrapbeak boss, two disciples who found power in the monster's influence and eventually turned on their own master. Crytek has always put effort into the storytelling behind its legendary hunter skins, and this pair is no exception. The character designs lean into the corrupted-worshipper aesthetic with enough visual flair that they stand out on screen, which matters in a game where your hunter's silhouette can be the only thing visible at 200 meters in dim light. The weapon skins follow the same dark, weathered aesthetic without going cartoonishly over the top. The honest criticism here is the same one that follows most Hunt DLC: you are paying for looks, and whether that price feels fair is entirely subjective. The base game's Steam reception sits at 74% positive across a very large review pool, which reflects genuine love for the gameplay alongside real frustration with how Crytek structures its monetization. Players who have already bought into the Hunt ecosystem and want to carry a specific visual identity into matches will find Souls of a Feather delivers exactly what it promises. Players who are still on the fence about the base game should solve that problem first before spending anything on cosmetics. The Sticky Bomb skin, the Cagebreaker, is a small bonus that will appeal to anyone who already leans on consumables for compound-clearing, but it is not a reason to purchase on its own. Buy this if you are already a committed Hunt player with a soft spot for occult lore and dual-character storytelling. Skip it if you are new or if you are holding out for content that changes how the game plays.
