About Huenison
The store page sells a hectic arcade shooter stitched from classics and half-forgotten oddities, and that description is accurate almost to a fault. RETREAM's mash-up really does throw shooting, dodging and constant scoring pressure at you at once, and the retro palette with its synthetic bleeps holds together with far more care than a thirteen-review page would suggest. This is handcraft in the old sense: one person's imagined arcade cabinet, dragged onto a desktop and left mostly unsanded. Where it slips is legibility. The screen gets loud fast and the game explains itself poorly, so your first half hour is guesswork rather than the good kind of mystery. Partial controller support is another small friction on something this twitchy. Stay with it, though, and the noise resolves into rhythm. That is the payoff, and it is a real one for the right player.
