Holy Maid Academy

I went in expecting typical VN earnestness and got something sharper instead. Holy Maid Academy leans hard into its premise: you're Ryunosuke, a new professor at St. Martius, and the student body is exactly as chaotic as the title suggests. The writing snaps between genuinely funny character moments and breakneck plot turns that undercut the school-slice-of-life setup before you get comfortable. It's a visual novel, so there's no real player agency in the traditional sense, but the pacing keeps you engaged through its dark comedy tone. If you're burnt out on earnest, pretty-screenshot VNs and want something that treats its premise like a joke worth telling well, this scratches that itch. It's indie, it's niche, and it knows what it is. Don't expect branching paths that overhaul the story, just solid writing doing one thing right.
