HELLBREAK

This one is for players who already know the specific pleasure of watching a build snowball into nonsense, and who want that in first person with a mouse in hand. If you need narrative, level design that changes shape, or a reason beyond the leaderboard, walk away now, because Double Barrel Games built exactly one loop and polished only that. Waves escalate in tight brutal arenas, you stack loadout pieces mid-run, and demon lord favor unlocks the gear that makes the next attempt less humiliating. The moment it clicks is around run six or seven, when the screen turns to noise and you realize you are still reading it. Where it thins out is variety. The arenas start blurring, and the meta-progression does a lot of heavy lifting to disguise how similar hour four feels to hour one. Mostly Positive across a few hundred reviews sounds about right to me: a small team that understood its one idea, shipped it clean with full controller support, and did not pad it. I respect that restraint even when I wish the mood had somewhere further to go.
