H1Z1
A 2016 battle royale that predates the genre's mainstream explosion, if you're curious about early BR history or want a dead-server time capsule, this is it.
GamerScout Verdict
A historical curiosity for BR fans; everyone else will find dead servers and dated gunplay.

About H1Z1
H1Z1 launched as a survival MMO and pivoted hard into battle royale mode before PUBG made the format a household name. That early timing is its only real claim to fame now. The core loop is familiar: drop into a post-apocalyptic map, loot weapons and armor, shrink the playable zone, last player standing wins. Gunplay is rough by modern standards and the player base is essentially gone, making matchmaking painful or impossible depending on your region and time of day. If you're a battle royale historian or morbidly curious about what the genre looked like before it became a cultural phenomenon, H1Z1 is a museum piece worth one playthrough. Everyone else should skip it. The servers technically exist but the population doesn't justify the grind, and there's nothing here that newer F2P alternatives don't do better.
