Gun Monkeys

Gun Monkeys is a small-scale online action game where you and an opponent spawn as armed primates in tight arenas and blast each other until someone wins. It's deliberately simple: no unlocks, no progression, just you, a gun, and the other guy trying to shoot you first. The appeal is pure arcade brevity, rounds are fast, matchmaking is peer-to-peer, and the whole thing runs light on your hardware. What works is the no-nonsense premise and the fact that it asks nothing of you except aim and reflexes. What doesn't is that the player base is thin now, so finding a match takes patience, and there's not much depth to keep you coming back once the novelty wears off. If you want a browser-game-lite shooter to load in the background and play a few quick rounds, this delivers exactly that. Just don't expect a community or content roadmap.
