Grim Dawn - Fangs of Asterkarn
Crate's farewell to Cairn is also its biggest swing yet: a shapeshifting new mastery, a punishing endgame mode, and enough loot density to erase your weekend plans.
GamerScout Verdict
Essential for invested Grim Dawn veterans; newcomers need all three expansions to enter, but the full package has never been stronger.

Every store in this table quotes us in euros, so the EUR figure is the price the seller actually set, not our arithmetic — which is why EUR is also the currency we rank in. We only list an offer here when the store gives us its price in euros, so nothing in this table is a number we invented.
Pick USD, PLN, GBP, CAD or AUD in the header and we convert from EUR at the European Central Bank reference rate — converted amounts are prefixed with ~. Your bank or the store may apply a different rate at checkout. We never hide offers based on where you are: everyone sees this whole table.

About Grim Dawn - Fangs of Asterkarn
I went into Fangs of Asterkarn expecting a solid-but-familiar send-off for a decade-old ARPG, and came out the other side having lost considerably more hours than I budgeted. This is Grim Dawn's third and final expansion, and Crate Entertainment treated it exactly like a farewell should be treated: overstuffed, earnest, and quietly confident that the people picking it up already love the foundation. The headliner is the Berserker, the game's tenth mastery and by far its most theatrical one. You shapeshift into beastlike wereforms, tear through packs with dual-weapon savagery, and lean on an Onslaught mechanic that rewards relentless aggression over cautious kiting. Pairing the Berserker with the existing nine masteries opens up 45 total class combinations, which is the kind of number that should make any build-theory enthusiast go quiet for a moment while they plan their next six characters. The shapeshifting has an amusing layer of personality to it too: some NPCs refuse to speak to you in wereform and you can roar at them instead, which is exactly the sort of detail that signals a development team having genuine fun. Beyond the new mastery, the content volume is hard to argue with. The Asterkarn region adds environments roughly 86% the size of the base game, spanning snowy peaks, frozen caverns, and hot spring valleys that showcase what Crate can do when it really pushes its engine. Three Kurn tribal factions add reputation-driven storylines rooted in the nomadic culture and its darker history. Potion customization with thousands of possible combinations, affix transmutation for rerolling rare items, and the Ascendant mode layered on top of Ultimate difficulty give veterans a genuine reason to revisit characters they thought were finished. The Ascendant mode in particular works through an Ascension Altar system that lets you bias loot drops toward specific damage types, so the grind actually bends to your build goals rather than demanding blind farming runs. The Shattered Realm has grown, the Crucible gets thirty additional waves if you own that DLC, and two roguelike dungeons are coming through post-launch free updates. The catches are real and worth naming. This expansion requires both Ashes of Malmouth and Forgotten Gods to access, so newcomers face a meaningful buy-in before they can set foot in Asterkarn. A vocal portion of the community has had minor friction with UI aesthetic changes that shipped alongside the free v1.3 update, and a handful of weather-heavy zones will dip your frame rate briefly. None of this rises to the level of a genuine problem, but fair warning for players running on older hardware or those who were perfectly happy with the previous interface. What lingers after finishing the main story content is a sense that Crate stuck the landing. The writing around the Kurn tribes has the grim mythological weight the series does best, the loot chase remains one of the tightest in the genre for people who like theorycrafting over twitch mechanics, and the performance is solid outside of those isolated weather moments. For players who want the depth of Path of Exile without the live-service anxiety, or the build freedom of old-school Diablo without the nostalgia tax, this is the expansion that rounds out one of PC gaming's most quietly excellent ARPGs.
