Green Ranch
A time-management farming game that's prettier than it has any right to be, but whether it'll hold your attention depends entirely on how much you enjoy watching timers tick down.
GamerScout Verdict
Safe for genre fans seeking low-stress progression; skip if you're tired of farming timers.

About Green Ranch
Green Ranch is a farming sim built around the time-management core: plant crops, wait for them to grow, harvest, repeat. The graphics are bright and colorful, which makes the whole affair less grindy-looking than most games in this genre. There's a progression system of levels and missions that doles out tasks in steady increments, and the unlock pace is designed to keep you playing longer than you probably planned. Here's the honest part: if you've played Farm Story, FarmVille, or any of the dozen other free-to-play farming clones, you know exactly what you're getting. Green Ranch doesn't innovate on the formula. It's competent, occasionally charming, and perfectly fine if you want something to tick away at while watching TV. But it's not going to surprise you, and it won't hook you if timed progression loops aren't already your thing. The trading cards and achievements are there for completionists, but they're thin garnish on a very familiar meal.
