About Golfing Over It with Alva Majo
I picked up Golfing Over It expecting a relaxing golf game. What I got was a rage-bait physics puzzle disguised as mini-golf. You control a golf ball with absurd momentum and gravity rules, trying to reach the top of an increasingly ridiculous obstacle course. Early holes teach you the basic physics, but by hole three you're managing bounce angles, momentum conservation, and friction values that feel like they're written by someone who failed their engineering degree and became a game designer out of spite. The difficulty spike is immediate and unforgiving. The appeal, if you can stomach it, is that every failure teaches you something about the physics engine. There's a twisted satisfaction in nailing a shot after 200 attempts. It's not a game for chill gaming sessions, though. It's a game for people who enjoy puzzles, precision, and the kind of patience that borders on self-punishment. If that sounds fun to you, go for it. If you want to relax with golf, play something else.
