GamerScout Verdict
Solid pick for multiplayer minigolf chaos; solo players should expect a shorter engagement window.

About Golfie
I went in expecting traditional minigolf and got a deck-building roguelike instead. Golfie strips away simulation and leans hard into card abilities: each run, you pick up modifiers that change how your shots behave, stack effects for combos, and navigate 18 procedurally-generated holes. The core loop is tight, pick a route through the course, manage your deck, and adapt when RNG hands you a bad draw. Single-player is functional but thin; the real value surfaces in local and online multiplayer (up to 8 players), where competing builds and unpredictable hole layouts create genuine replay appeal. The downside: minigolf is a one-note experience without much mechanical depth to lean on. Card variety keeps things fresh for a few hours, but long-term retention depends entirely on whether your friends show up. If you're chasing solo depth or traditional golf, look elsewhere. For couch co-op or quick online sessions with a twist, it's worth a shot.
