With them off, there is a modest skill ceiling around angle judgment and timing that rewards repeat sessions. Neither mode is deep in the strategy sense, but both are readable within two holes, which matters for mixed-skill groups. The tutorial is minimal because the game is minimal, and that is the correct design call here. The shortcomings are real, though. Single-player is essentially a practice mode with no campaign, leaderboard chase, or structured progression to speak of. If your friend group is unavailable, there is limited reason to load the game. Online matchmaking with strangers exists but the social experience drops significantly without voice chat or shared history. The AI is nonexistent in the meaningful sense, there are no CPU opponents, so this is purely a human-dependent experience.
