GamerScout Verdict
Quirky gold-rush platformer with personality but loose controls - skip unless you've played everything else.

About Golden Fever
I spent a couple hours with Golden Fever expecting either a polished retro platformer or a disaster. It's neither - it's a strange middle ground. The gold-rush setting gives it personality, and the action-platformer loop of jumping, dodging, and collecting is straightforward enough. The pixel art has personality, even if animation frames feel sparse and the difficulty curve can be jagged. What holds it back is lack of refinement. Hit detection feels floaty, level design doesn't always signal what you're supposed to do, and the whole thing feels like it needed one more pass in testing. It's playable and occasionally fun, but not memorable enough to recommend unless you specifically want a quirky indie platformer from 2017 and have exhausted the obvious choices.
