I went in expecting a Souls-like with loot mechanics, and that's partially what Godfall delivers. You equip Valorplates (legendary armor that transforms your moveset), chain melee combos, and grind increasingly difficult dungeons for better gear. The combat feels weighty and responsive, and watching your damage numbers climb as you upgrade is genuinely addictive for the first 10-15 hours. Then the cracks show. Mission design is repetitive, difficulty spikes are more artificial bloat than challenge, and the endgame loop reduces to running the same encounters over and over. Co-op helps break the monotony, but it doesn't fix the core issue: there's just not enough variety to justify 40+ hours of grinding.
