About Goddess Of War Ashley
I went in expecting a God of War knockoff and found something weirder: a scrappy indie game that tries to mix anime aesthetics with hack-and-slash combat on a shoestring budget. Goddess of War Ashley commits to its B-movie energy, and there's something endearing about that. The combat is serviceable if repetitive, and the anime presentation has charm, but the game doesn't hide its limitations. Movement feels stiff, animations are rough, and level design is straightforward to the point of boredom. It's the kind of game that knows what it wants to be but doesn't quite have the resources to pull it off with polish. If you're hunting for a short, low-stakes action game with anime girls and don't mind rough edges, this scratches that itch for a couple hours. Everyone else should pass. There are better uses of your time even in the indie action space.
