About God Eater - Trilogy
I went in expecting a Monster Hunter clone and found something leaner. God Eater strips down the formula: faster combat, shorter mission cycles, and a progression system that actually lets you experiment with builds without farming for weeks. The trilogy packages the first game, Burst (the expanded re-release), and God Eater 2 together, so you get a progression arc if you're willing to stick with it. The catch is that this is a niche action RPG built for co-op hunting groups. Solo play works but feels like the afterthought. Missions are repetitive by design, and if Monster Hunter's appeal doesn't click for you, this won't convert you. The PC port runs fine, the UI is serviceable, and the combat is responsive enough to carry the loop. Not a revolution, but a solid alternative for anyone tired of waiting between Monster Hunter releases.
