Cute co-op shooter with a genuinely clever magnetic stacking mechanic, but solo players will hit a wall fast. Worth a look if you have three warm bodies ready to play.

My honest first reaction to Glitch Busters: Stuck On You was surprise that a game built around such a specific, smart idea could feel so unfinished in so many other places. The core hook is magnetic co-op: your four emoji-faced characters can snap together into a tower to reach elevated areas, swing between each other on arcing momentum, slam into enemies with magnetic dashes, and coordinate fire from a stacked formation. When that clicks with real players, it genuinely does what the developers at Toylogic intended. The problem is almost everything surrounding that mechanic. The game is a third-person, level-based co-op shooter spread across five themed areas, from a cyber cityscape to a roaring volcano. Three distinct modes sit alongside the main story: Patrol mode has you clearing areas against the clock, and Simulate mode functions as an endless survival run with modifiable enemy spawns and timers. The story campaign runs somewhere between four and eight hours depending on pace. You earn in-game currency called Likes by clearing levels and landing kills, which unlock the game's 16-plus weapons, including SMGs, shotguns, rocket launchers, and lasers, through a shared random pool rather than per-character loadouts. That design choice is a source of consistent frustration: you spawn with only the default weapon and carry one at a time, and the randomized chest system means build planning is basically off the table. Character variety is the other flat tire. Every character handles identically. No class differences, no skill trees, no progression that meaningfully changes how you play after hour one. The enemy AI, described by multiple reviewers as basic to the point of walking straight at you, does not compensate for the lack of character depth. The solo experience is further undercut by unreliable ally bots that regularly get stuck on geometry, die to trivial hazards, and need constant reviving. The camera has a habit of lurching past your character at the worst possible moments, and the story gates certain missions behind enough collected Likes that you will need to grind side content before proceeding. What saves it from being a straight skip is the level design variety and a handful of set-piece moments that land well. Side-scrolling shoot-em-up segments where the whole team is stacked vertically, a downhill race through advertising hoardings, vehicle sections including a car that lets you mow enemies on the move, and cooperative puzzle sections that make smart use of the magnetic mechanics all show genuine creativity. The cartoon art style is bright and distinct, using a 2D character silhouette in a 3D world that has a look of its own. If you can get three human players into a session, the friendly competition for Likes between rounds and the chaos of the magnet physics genuinely become fun. That context-dependent enjoyment is why the Steam reception lands in the middle rather than the bottom. If you are the organizer of a gaming night with reliably available friends, Glitch Busters has a specific slot it fills adequately. Solo players, or anyone expecting the progression depth of a modern team shooter, will run out of reasons to stick around well before the credits. Alex, Scout Team
