Gabe Newell Simulator
A janky 2015 meme game where you play as Gabe Newell fighting corporate rivals. Exactly as shallow as it sounds.

About Gabe Newell Simulator
Let me be upfront: there is no spreadsheet that makes Gabe Newell Simulator a deep experience. Released in 2015 by solo developer Antonio Renna, this is a short, low-budget action-adventure built almost entirely around the Gaben meme that was peaking on PC gaming forums at the time. You control a caricature of Valve's co-founder and beat up enemies representing rival companies. That is the game. The entire game. From a mechanical standpoint, there is almost nothing to analyze. Combat is basic button-pressing with no build variety, no progression system worth noting, and no late-game content to speak of because there is barely a mid-game either. The kind of decision-making I usually care about, resource management, branching strategies, risk-reward tradeoffs, is completely absent. If you came here hoping for any simulation depth implied by the word 'Simulator' in the title, adjust expectations immediately. The genre tag is used loosely, to put it generously. Who is this actually for? Realistically, it was made for a very specific slice of 2015 internet culture that considered 'Gaben' a quasi-religious figure. If you were deep in that community at the time, there is probably a nostalgic curiosity hit here that lasts maybe 20 minutes. For anyone outside that context, or anyone coming to it now, the humor has aged poorly and the gameplay does not compensate. The Steam review split sitting at 52 percent positive out of 687 reviews tells the story accurately: half the people who bought it found the joke funny enough, the other half felt shortchanged. The tutorial, such as it is, takes roughly 30 seconds to exhaust, which is fine given there is nothing complex to learn. The mod ecosystem is nonexistent. AI behavior is rudimentary. As a strategy-and-sim specialist I look for systems that reward repeated play and informed decision-making, and this title offers neither. It is a meme artifact, not a game with staying power. If you are hunting for a casual novelty to share a screenshot of with friends who remember early-2010s PC gaming culture, the price of entry is low enough that the sting is minimal. Everyone else should treat it as a curiosity and move on. Diego, Scout Team
