I went in expecting the usual backrooms creepypasta vibes and got something completely different. Furry Backrooms ditches the suffocating dread of its inspiration and opts for a lighthearted exploration game where you wander through surreal, maze-like environments as an anthropomorphic character. It's more about curiosity and discovery than survival or scares, which honestly makes it feel less like a backrooms game and more like a casual adventure with a quirky aesthetic. The appeal here is niche but genuine if you're into character-driven indie weirdness and don't mind that the core loop is fairly simple. There's no combat or puzzle complexity, just walking around, soaking in the strange architecture, and maybe finding lore fragments. It's the kind of game that works as a chill detour rather than a main event. Not groundbreaking, but harmless fun if the furry angle and liminal exploration combo hooks you.
