You learn fast that a cheap hull with good armor distribution will outlast an expensive hull with a single critical weak point. That loop of design, test, iterate is where the real hours disappear. For newcomers, the learning curve is the thing everyone warns you about, and the warning is accurate. The tutorial covers the basics of block placement and propulsion, but it does not hold your hand through advanced weapon systems, missile guidance, or the AI behavior scripting.
