About From The Ashes Expansion - Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora™ (DLC)
From the Ashes is paid story DLC for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, the open-world action-adventure that put you in the boots - or bare feet - of a Na'vi warrior pushing back against RDA encroachment on Pandora. This expansion takes its cue from the Avatar: Fire and Ash film, meaning its narrative beats are built around whatever that film introduces rather than standing alone as its own invented arc. If you bounced off the base game, nothing here is going to change your mind. But if you finished the main story and still wanted more time gliding through bioluminescent forests and wrecking RDA machinery, this is a direct continuation of that loop. The core gameplay of Frontiers of Pandora was always a mixed bag with some genuine high points. The traversal and the world itself were the standout selling points - Pandora is genuinely beautiful, and moving through it on foot or on ikran back had a physicality that most open-world games skip. The combat, a blend of Na'vi bows and crafted weapons alongside commandeered RDA firearms, was functional and occasionally satisfying. From the Ashes presumably keeps all of that intact, layering new mission content and likely new environments on top of the existing framework. The tie-in to a film release also suggests a narrative emphasis, so expect cutscenes and character moments to carry a good chunk of the runtime. The honest caveat here is that this DLC released alongside a film, which means the story content may feel incomplete or telegraphed if you go in without that context, and it may spoil the film if you play first. That kind of multimedia entanglement is a real friction point worth flagging. There are also no review scores available at this stage, so the quality of the new content is genuinely unknown territory. The base game had Ubisoft's familiar structural habits - map icons, collectibles, camps to liberate - and if those wore thin before credits rolled, more of that scaffolding here may not hold your attention. This is DLC aimed squarely at players who liked the base game enough to want a return trip. If you are that person, the combination of new story material inspired by a fresh film chapter and additional Pandoran environments to explore should justify the ask reasonably well. Anyone else would want to start with the base game first and see how they feel before committing to expansions. Alex, Scout Team
