Forza Horizon 3 (PC/Xbox One)
Australia's open world is the real star here, if you can look past the always-online requirement and dated PC port.
GamerScout Verdict
Great for arcade racing fans in Australia's open world, but the always-online PC port and age gap versus Horizon 4 make it a tough sell in 2024.

About Forza Horizon 3 (PC/Xbox One)
I've spent enough time in Forza Horizon 3 to know what it does right: the driving feels meaty, the festival structure gives you constant goals, and the Australian setting is genuinely gorgeous. You're building a music festival empire while racing across deserts, rainforests, and beaches. The variety of vehicles and race types keeps things from getting stale, and co-op multiplayer is seamless when the connection holds. That said, this is a 2016 game showing its age. The PC version demands always-online authentication, the graphics haven't aged as smoothly as the driving model, and performance can be spotty on older hardware. If you're hunting pure racing fun with a forgiving difficulty curve and don't mind the online tether, it's still a solid weekend burn. Just know that Forza Horizon 4 exists and probably deserves your time more.
