Forgotten Realms: The Archives - Collection Two
Three real-time dungeon crawlers from the AD&D era, repackaged without apology. Bring graph paper and patience, or bounce off the first beholder.
GamerScout Verdict
For CRPG archaeologists who want the Eye of the Beholder trilogy intact, warts included. Newcomers should start with Darkmoon.

Every store in this table quotes us in euros, so the EUR figure is the price the seller actually set, not our arithmetic — which is why EUR is also the currency we rank in. We only list an offer here when the store gives us its price in euros, so nothing in this table is a number we invented.
Pick USD, PLN, GBP, CAD or AUD in the header and we convert from EUR at the European Central Bank reference rate — converted amounts are prefixed with ~. Your bank or the store may apply a different rate at checkout. We never hide offers based on where you are: everyone sees this whole table.
We may earn a commission when you buy games through links on this page — at no extra cost to you. It never affects our rankings or verdicts.

About Forgotten Realms: The Archives - Collection Two
One square per step, and the monsters keep walking while you dither. That rule shaped every hour I spent with the three Eye of the Beholder games bundled here: you shuffle a six-character party through first-person dungeon grids, sidestep to swing at a rust monster, then back off a tile before it eats your armor. Combat is clicking weapon icons in a panel, not picking menu options, so fights turn into frantic mouse work. Bring graph paper. Mapping is on you, puzzles hinge on pressure plates and hidden wall buttons you find by clicking everything, and death arrives without warning. The re-release spares you the setup headaches but does not soften a single design decision from the early nineties. Legend of Darkmoon is the peak of the set, denser and better paced than the original, while Assault on Myth Drannor is the one you play out of completism rather than fun.
