Firework - A Modern Tale

Firework landed on Xbox in early 2021 with almost zero visibility, which means you're looking at a genuine wildcard. I went in knowing almost nothing, and that's actually the best way to approach this one. It's an action-adventure that doesn't lean into any one trend hard enough to slot neatly into comparison territory. Without much critical coverage to reference, I'm judging this on what it does: deliver gameplay that prioritizes exploration and combat over story fanfare. If you're tired of AAA narrative bloat and want something that trusts the player to piece things together, this could be your speed. Just know you're buying a gamble on a title that barely registered commercially. Go in expecting modest production values and rewarding exploration, not a polished blockbuster experience.
