About Firescout
I went into Firescout expecting a standard action romp, but what I found was a slower-paced tactical experience that punishes button-mashing. You're managing firearm positioning and movement across small arenas, weighing each decision against limited ammunition and enemy placement. It's part tower defense, part turn-based tactics, played in real time. The learning curve is steep and the visuals are deliberately understated, which means this game has zero mainstream appeal. That said, if you're the kind of player who loved early Frozen Synapse or spent hours optimizing builds in forgotten strategy hybrids, Firescout scratches a very specific itch that few modern titles even attempt. The core loop works: position scouts, manage fire lanes, adapt to enemy spawns. There's no story padding or hand-holding, just mechanics that assume you'll figure it out. It won't wow anyone, and its niche audience is tiny. But for the right person, it's exactly what they didn't know they were looking for.
